In College Support

If your child needs pastoral support, the first point of contact is their form tutor, followed by their Head of Year.

If your concern is specifically linked to safeguarding, it will be passed to a member of the safeguarding team listed below.

For more specialist support, College can refer to a number of outside agencies:

• NHS MHST - an early intervention for students beginning to suffer from low mood or anxiety. Karen Mellor is our MHST nurse and is in school every Thursday
• Mind – suitable for more prolonged mental health difficulties, or to support with any challenging life circumstances. Counsellors are in school 1.5 days a week
• Family Action – for families who would benefit from Early Help support
• Stars – for students who are engaging in substance abuse and would like support to stop
• ELSA – an in-house programme to support students with emotional literacy and social skills
• Staffordshire Women's Aid – a charity who work with victims of sexual abuse
• Catch 22 – for students who are at risk of criminal exploitation
• New Era – for students who are victims of Domestic Abuse
